CODP (Canara Organization for Development and Peace), based in Mangalore, India is a charitable organization focused on the needs of poor and marginalized individuals in and around the city of Mangalore and its province of Canara. Its goals include empowering women to achieve self-reliance, increasing self-employment among rural youth, and promoting education, good health, workers’ rights and a sustainable environment. CODP runs a variety of programs focused on each of these goals.
FAEE is pleased to be working with CODP to support several of its education related programs – the Students’ Scholarship Program, which provides financial support to intelligent but poor students who are seeking a higher education; the Youth Empowerment Training Program, which focuses on developing leadership skills for high school students; and the Career Advancement Program, which provides young adults with career guidance and training for various civil service examinations.
